True Boxing Stance: Balance fundamentals

I tried to find this video in my archives but it never seemed to crop up (although several other videos, including DCM removed ones did show up).

A good refresher course. It’s “traditional” in the Western sense, before they started using training gloves in actual matches. People started dying from a punch to the chest, that’s how far Western (bare handed) boxers took their art to. It became more powerful the more it internalized the external with the inner power.

Reading the arma manuals also reminds me that the lunge in Western fencing, is pretty much the same footwork wise as the straight drive and drop step in Chinese internal arts. Shortest point from A to B is a straight line. And in order to get the maximum force, acceleration, and impact at the end of that straight line, certain things must conform to the form. Form follows function.
