Central Planning vs Chaos Theory: Which is Superior? March 12, 2008

After reading your comment, I went to check, and yes, there is an RSS feed for comments on Typepad. It is now enabled. Thanks for mentioning it.-Gail“That’s also true of warfare. Which means that in war, there is a breakdown of law and thus the only law that people obey is what they or their military makes.”-YmarAs it happens, I was just writing about adolescent residential treatment for troubled teens. A treatment center I know of gives the best advice I’ve ever seen or heard about changing behavior in other people:-GailClose every door but the one you want them to walk through.
Very simple, but very true. It requires controlling the environment completely. We Westerners feel uncomfortable “taking over” in this way. But sometimes it’s necessary for survival - of ourselves in wartime, or of the teen we are trying to raise to adulthood.
Such principles are clear to people that understand the human condition. Unfortunately, not everyone that understands the human condition uses that knowledge for good. And nor does ignorance of human nature make one harmless.
In a way, Leftist-utopian-Democrat beliefs are centered around the absence or inferiority of free will compared to central planning and religious dogma/vision.
Because human free will is seen as base and inferior to the more effective, righteous, and ethical Central Planning of government and elite aristos like Democrat leaders, such religious followers tend to escalate the condition of humanity towards totalitarian and unfree hierarchies.
Those that see free will as what makes us different from the lower orders, are people that basically recognizes that a human being put in a bad situation will do everything he can to get out of it. If his activities aren’t working or are counter-productive, we rely upon him and his free will to freely, of his own free choice, to choose to change his behavior to benefit himself more.
Those that see free will as inferior to central planning, namely their central planning, becomes an Arafat or a Jimmy Carter or various other Stalins and Hitlers. They see people as only being able to make the right decisions when they are forced to make those decisions by the anointed few. They think that a people like the Palestinians don’t know any better, and are just doing violence cause their free will has not been conquered by Israel’s central planning power in the form of high tech weapons and bombs. And they believe this because they believe free will is naturally subordinate to the power of an elite few, like the Jews which they crafted the blood libel for.
So obviously the West, in the form of fake liberals and supporters of terrorism and tyranny, want Iran, Hizbollah, Hamas, Arafat, the PLO, etc to serve as a counter-balancing “central planning reserve” to counter Israel’s machinations that are depressing the Palestinian’s ability to choose a better life.
Now we get into the complex stuff, which is what happens when one tries to figure out the various layers to war and political infighting.
Because while at the same time the Left is talking about Israel’s control over Palestinians needing an Arafat or Iran to correct, it is Arafat and Hamas and Iran that are the ones truly in control of the (unfree) will of the Palestinians. So when the fake liberals and CodePink useful idiots put more power to Arafat, what they see is what they would have expected to see. Which is Arafat getting more power and seeing that the Palestinians are “more united” under Arafat. Which is true, but not for the reasons the rich pretty boys and girls in Europe think it is. It is not because Arafat’s “central totalitarian planning” coalition has countered Israel’s Mossad-Zionist-World Conspiracy power, it is because Arafat has from day one been the person that decided for the Palestinians what the Palestinians will or will not do. And since Arafat’s way of doing things is exactly the same way Democrats and Leftists in Europe sees as the solution to human strife, they praise him and his methods. These people believe that millions of people would be better off having their day to day choices made by an elite group of aristos in a privileged class. And just like most aristocrats, they reserve their most hatred towards fellow aristocrats that they see as competition, not particularly towards the poor since aristos don’t see the poor as competition or even a threat.
In an interesting paradox, those of us that recognize the ethical supremacy of free will must also recognize that free will is not without restrictions. You can “will” something all you want, but if you don’t got money or resources then nothing is going to happen. Thus we focus on providing the economic and military security necessary for individuals to exercise the full extent of their free will, in making choices that they see as the best for themselves, regardless of whether I or a central planning reserve agrees. Through chaos theory we get order from this seemingly senseless, pointless, and prejudiced mix of mob opinions. Thus we do not particularly care what choices people made, we care about ensuring that the reality and the restrictions they operate under are real, just, and legal according to nature and God’s laws. Instead of trying to do “diplomacy” as the Left means, we did a Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Our position was “you guys in Japan can choose to do what you want, we will not order you to go against your beliefs or tell you what you should do with your free will, we will simply do what we have to do, which is to destroy Japan. Until you are no longer a threat. It is up to you to decide in what fashion you wish to cease becoming a threat.”
We shape reality by our choices made by freely choosing what is in our best interests and allowing our enemies, allies, and those neutral to decide for themselves what they will do.
The enemies of humanity wishes to take that choice away from people, and believes just because they (the Left) are control freaks, that their enemies, the United States, also must be control freaks. Thus the reason why Iraqis and black slaves and poor people don’t obey the Left must be because America is using our totalitarian mind control powers to make people resist Leftist commands, which are naturally just and correct. The concept of an individual freely choosing a different path than what the Left has set out is simply unthinkable. It would violate basic philosophical principles that the Left holds concerning human nature and free will.
The Leftist thinks that they can order people to stop fighting and that they will stop. That if the Left just tells people, Sunnis and Shia, to stop fighting that they will stop fighting so long as the Left removes America’s totalitarian imperialist dominion from affecting the *unfree* will of Iraqis, so that the Iraqis will obey the Central Planning Reserve known as the international progressivist movement towards human self-destruction. That’s what they actually think, if you pierce their political arguments that they use as armor and deception against their true core beliefs. That’s why they place so much value on “talking” and diplomacy, while at the same time blocking, obstructing, and sabotaging any efforts made by Bush and the United States liberation forces from conducting successful diplomacy.
Somehow, someway, America’s choice to protect herself and Emperor Hirohito’s choice to protect Japan, ended up with a former enemy as a current ally. A destroyed Japan emerging as the economic leader of Asia. A militaristic Empire evolving into a economic force of nature without any real army, navy, or air force. Such are the consequences of people exercising their free will without outside busy bodies trying to centrally plan the outcomes. The consequences of a central planning agency, the UN, seeking to arbitrate a conflict, the Palestinian-Israeli perpetual war, provides a different result as we all know. Years, decades even, of eternal warfare. Entire generations that fell to darkness, despair, and corruption. Compare this to Japan. Two nukes produced 2-4 generations of healthy, happy, and successful men and women. Israel vs Palestine has used no nukes but 2+ generations of children’s bodies in their wars. And why is this? Because central planning is not superior to the ethical supremacy of free will, of the ability of people to freely choose what they think is best creating what truly IS best.
Humans are not always wise, of course, so you will often never get an Emperor Hirohito. You will often get a Hitler or Stalin, whose free choices means that everyone has to fall with them. Nobody else gets to decide that they should go on a different path than Hitler’s. It must be his vision for Germany or nothing.
These are the kinds of paradoxes and seemingly conflicting layers that make comprehending human nature a life’s work. It will never end, in a way. If only because humans will continue to be humans, and each new generation will have to be taught this fact of life or face the risk of learning it through painful and probably fatal experience.
In the end, it is those that value free choice vs those that value government central planning as the best way to improve the condition of humanity. It is not just about people disagreeing over human nature, it is about people that believe human nature can be changed to fit their specifications of the perfect Hive Hierarchy. We make choices and change our environment according to the laws of nature and of reality. The Left seeks to change human nature in an illegal as well as unethical manner. We were not designed, whether by God, Nature, or Space Aliens to operate under a hive hierarchy. Any hierarchy should require the consent of those in it. The free consent, not coerced consent.
PS. Synova blogged about the same subject some time ago.
Do I trust my fundie neighbor to do the best possible job teaching her children? Do I trust the secular unschooler down the street? Do I trust the Muslim who recently immigrated and would rather not have his child in public school? Do I trust the Amish who don’t (I’m told) educate past 8th grade? Do I trust the polyamorist wiccan coven who wants to start a day school?
Not only no, but hell no.
But do I trust them in aggregate? Do I trust the robust nature of the way all of our various choices work together to optimize the end result? Do I trust the flexibility and diversity of knowledge and ideas to mesh into a whole that is by far the most desirable and effective totality of education to advance our country and perhaps our world into an unknowable future?
Yes, I do.
I trust people.

Thank you very much for the long and thoughtful response.
I think the left and the Islamic world have something in common: They both live in fantasyland. Socialismland and Medievalworld.
It is the job of the sober, sane adults of the world to get them to see that their fantasies are not ever going to come to life.
This is a hugely difficult task.
Thank you very much for the long and thoughtful response.
I just got carried away while writing a comment to you, so I decided that I might as well make it a post.
